Being radiant within yourself.
It must have been 5 o’clock this morning that I was first disrupted by the sun. Disrupted is properly the wrong word to describe a beautiful yellow light beaming through the windows in the early morning , nether-less it was pleasant after the abysmal weekend. As soon as my girlfriend finally got up to get ready for work, there was no chance that I was going to fall back to sleep, I was fully out of dream mode. After discussing what I should do today, call the Maltese embassy … I finally got out of bed and decided to type this entry. I said to myself that I will put down something that is not a rant or a moan at something therefore I am going to inscribe a pleasing post.
Last Thursday after I had arrived in London from Heathrow after saying goodbye to my partners mum who had a great time in England over the last week in Exmore and Isle of white , I met up with a friend who does not normally come to London, he was around because of an interview. He dragged me along to the Telectroscope , which I thought was an April fools joke , its a large telescope that supposedly has been built over a 100 years that at the other end Brooklyn bridge can be seen, all finished off in cyberpunk galore. As we were viewing the site , somebody asked my friend to take a photo of him, this photo opportunity amounted to a new friendship. This guy which like all people on my blog I like to keep anonymous joined us in a pub and sat down to his first fish n’ chips. He was born in Auston Texas and to both of our amusement was brought up with a British nanny that cooked cottage pie often.
After we were finished , I persuaded my friend to stay a few more hours which took us around the river embankment via a route that I have never stepped before thus ending at St Pauls Cathedral where it was time for all of us to go home our separate ways. I was glad to find out on my facebook wall
Yes, it was great to meet the two of you. I hope you got back home alright. I’m glad I got to share my first true British meal and explore around the Thames with you guys. It was a real treat which I enjoyed a great deal! Thanks for being so friendly to a wandering traveler such as myself, its stuff like that which has made London such a wonderful place to be.
from our new friend. Its moments such as that, that make me happy to be alive. I am not just reciprocating , I honestly was happy we made his evening in London a good one.
The simple short-lived experiences in life have a positive echo on my personality. I am a pretty humble person with no huge aims in life. I think reaching for the top of the mountains is beyond me as well as unnecessary for a complete life. It is better to have made small steps in life than missing giant leaps.
The Art of Travel and Status Anxiety by Alain de botton discusses different possible solutions to have a fore-fulling life , it was a couple of years since I read them , its two books that I can highly recommend. He writes in very easy to understand style. They are by no illusions comprehensive psychological or philosophical books but just simply digestible words for thought.
I came across a review that is also inspiration for the mind , that begins with
Tapping the Power Within
Authentic power encompasses the ability to face adversity, to overcome fear and inhibition, to be in touch with our inner lives and be able to plan ahead.
Whether we admit it or not, power is an essential ingredient of life. It is present in every single human action and transaction; it is our ability to produce an effect, to make what we want happen. Usually, its presence is unspoken. Part of the problem is that when we think of power, most of us think of dominance—command and control. But that’s only one type of power.
Having the ability to control your inner self I believe is part of being a happy person. It may sound extravagant and highly abstract and not something easy to grasp at first , by just setting back a few moments a day to reflect on life will make this happen.
